If you are searching for a job it is very helpful to create a job search strategy. Yes, looking for a new position can be overwhelming. However if you have a strategy in place you will have a clear road map to follow. This road map will help you define where you should spend your time and also how much time you should allot to the different tasks necessary to find a position.

One of the major mistakes common job seekers make is to search only the super job search engines. Admittedly more job openings are posted on the super job search engines, but in the mean time, the employers who use the supper sites will also receive much more applications for the posted position. A large portion of job bank traffic is generated by job seekers, not employers, therefore the higher a job site’s traffic is, the more competitive the positions are. Additionally, many employers, especially those smaller companies, are posting only to second tire job banks for various reasons, some to reduce the influx of applications, some for a better posting plan, some to retrain applicants to local area.

Step 1 – Search Meta Job Search Engines

You can jump start your job search using the meta job search engines, which will simultaneously check multiple job boards. No meta search engines covers all the job banks, and different meta search engines supports different job banks. There are two types of meta search engines, respectively Link Engine and Listing Engine. The Link Meta Search Engines save you time in entering search criteria, so that you simply enter keyword, choose region and categories once, and then get cooked links for various job banks. The Listing Engine goes one step forward, will present all the job listings, so that you needn’t pay a visit to each individual job bank. The third type of job search engine is special Meta Job Search Engine Software that not only searches the job, but also assists in composing cover letter and resume sending.

Step 2 – Post Your Resume to Job Banks

Most websites request job seekers to post resume in order to apply online, and to post your resume to all websites is a frustrating task. You can either perform the task manually, or use Resume Posting services, which do the job for you. However, Resume Posting Service is different from resume broadcasting service, which broadcasts your resume directly to recruiters.

Step 3 – Experience as Many Job Banks as Possible to Select Your Job Banks

Meta Job Search Engines only deal with some of the popular job banks. A job seeker should try as many job banks as possible, and then conclude which web sites are more effective for you. There are quite a few less known job banks with outstanding job postings. You don’t necessarily have to use all the resources all the time, but at the beginning you should try different resources so that you known which ones works better for you particular occupation, region and experience level.

ExpatHiring.com is the most convenient and effective way to find expat employment. With the biggest source of expatriate jobs, overseas career advice and job searching tools for expats, international students and multilingual jobseekers, they are the first choice when it comes to international recruitment.

Executive search consultants have interesting but challenging jobs. At times, finding the right candidate for a company can be a bit like looking for a needle in a haystack. A fairly big gap can exist between the company needs and the candidates wants and the consultant’s job of helping the two sides meet in the middle can be daunting. A way to make the process much easier is to find highly qualified candidates with a vision and work style that matches the hiring company. In the past, that meant job fairs, newspaper ads, and a great deal of faxing in an effort to find qualified applicants.

But with the advent of email, the internet, twitter and text messaging, finding candidates is becoming easier, allowing executive search consultants to find better qualified applicants faster. Rather than attend job fairs all over the country hoping to find top notch applicants and then being done with a search, a recruiter can launch a well designed website that allows people to add their resume online. With a 24 hour 7 day a week presence on the internet, a number of possible employees have access to the recruiter that might never have made it to a job fair.

Another technology that has made a world of difference for recruiters is email. No longer limited by fax machines, candidates can communicate clearly without having to run to Kinko’s to fax documents. Email is also a great tool for tracking information, allowing the recruiter to know what details were sent and when. Negotiations are well documented and an email conversation can happen quickly and easily, allowing decisions to be discussed thoroughly even within the time pressure of a job search. Texting is another useful tool for consultants. Being able to sit in an office meeting and at the same time send a short bit of information to a candidate regarding a change of an interview location makes all the difference. Twitter is also finding its way into the awareness of executive search consultants as it allows them to distribute information to all their clients and candidates with a minimum of effort.

With current economic conditions, it may seem wasteful to spend the money on a resume service, but in this competitive market this is exactly the time you should spring for the service. Many companies are receiving hundreds of resumes for each open position. A majority of recruiters spend less than three minutes reviewing a resume. Does your resume have what it takes to get noticed?

Your resume is not just a list of your experiences; it is a document advertising you and your accomplishments. Companies spend thousands of dollars on advertising campaigns. They do market research, conduct focus groups, and pitch several different ideas – all to get your attention. Your resume is your only way to get the attention of a hiring manager.

There are the obvious changes that can be made to your resume. If you have a simple typo or grammatical error, your resume could be tossed aside no matter how relevant your experience. But, this is something you can edit on your own. A good resume writing service offers more than just proofreading.

Resume writers do just that – they write resumes, every day. It can be easy for most individuals to find a resume format they like and stick with that format for years. A resume writer sees all different kinds of formats and styles and can transform your resume in ways that highlight your key points. Think of yourself on the receiving end of resumes – wouldn’t you be tired of seeing the same old bulleted list of job descriptions? A professional resume writer knows how to make your resume visually stand out.

Resume writers know what recruiters want, and just as important what they don’t want to see on resumes. Professionals know what keywords and buzzwords need to be present for your resume to stand out. Many recruiters search resumes online and will only find your resume if certain keywords are present. Since resume writers are always working with resumes they know the latest trends and techniques that recruiters are using. They attend conferences and participate in webinars, so their skills set is always improving.

Many people become attached to certain details on their resume. There may be some parts that should not be included, but they are so important to the individual that they have a tough time deleting them. Having a resume writer work on your resume will help it to be more objective. After talking with you about your experiences, there may be other skills that they will highlight on your resume. As individuals we tend to down play several of our best abilities.

Contingency recruitment is one of the widely used hiring process. It includes the agreed terms and conditions with clients and sending candidates on an as needed basis to the companies. It is an ongoing recruitment and placement activity to client organization. The services included in this type of recruitment are research into a potential employee, verification of references, experience, education and full background checks. The contingency firm can consist of one or two persons only or it may also be a large firm with many employees analyzing the candidates for their jobs. These recruiting services consist of research on potential employee’s personality type, background and verification of references, experience, educational qualifications. Ultimately, they filter all the candidates and select best among them for their clients. This type of recruitment is generally used to recruit associate directors, principal consultants, senior consultant, chartered surveyors etc.,

Candidates who sign up for this service do not have to pay to the recruiter. The company who has consulted contingency recruiting services will pay the fee to the recruiter for providing the appropriate candidate. The recruiting firm will charge fee from the companies if a proposed job applicant is selected. Depending upon the firms, the contingency recruiting offers different tests to find the best employee. These contingency recruiting firms maintain a database of prospective employee’s which helps them to make the selection of the candidate for their client easier. This type of recruitment focus on network of IT professionals and extensive database to source the suitable candidates. The contingency recruiter has contract with companies and it is a very expensive hiring process. Contingency recruiting involves more risks when compared with contract recruiter. In contingency hiring, 15 to 30 percent of an employee’s first year’s pay would be given to contingency recruiter for hiring an appropriate candidate. The amount payed to the recruiter will be justified because of the efforts that he has put to find an appropriate candidate.

Once a candidate is found related to the job profile, they go for telephone screening. They make a call to the candidate to know why he is wanting for change of position or a new job. They also try to know about their salary requirements and career aspirations. If the candidate gets selected, he is asked to register online. This comprises of online questionnaire. If the recruiter is satisfied, the candidate is asked to attend face-to-face interview. Then the candidate is tested for competencies and skills. If the candidate gets qualified, then he is asked to attend interview with the client. Ultimately, the decision of recruitment is based on the client as per vacancy for the post. Many candidates who are looking for jobs are seeking contingency recruitment firms.

There is no reference at all to influential content, building powerful bullets, or writing text that spurs a call to action. Resume templates exist because most people dislike writing their resume, and haven’t the slightest inkling of how to write a good resume. And, they exist because we acknowledge that visual appeal is useful. After all, we spend a great deal of money on looking good: we know we are evaluated and even judged on appearance. However, we also acknowledge that looks can be deceiving, and that we won’t get anywhere on good looks alone. Hiring decisions are based on a candidate’s value, which is best conveyed through performance and productivity proven with strong verbs and specific content.

Templates provide a set-up for those who fumble in Word, but they do not walk you through developing impactful content. They do not provide a lesson on appropriate or necessary strategy. They do not point you on the path that will most favourably present your skills in action. The purpose of a resume is to express achievements, experience, and areas and levels of expertise. Few know how to capture what they did, describe the challenges they overcame to achieve outcomes; they shrink from answering the what? how? so what? how hard? aspects of their past employs.

If you must use a template, keep in mind the following in order to reframe that cookie-cutter template to a good resume: Go beyond stating what you did to showing how it impacted the company. For example, an HR specialist is likely to have designed an employee survey. So what? So did many of the HR candidates. In order to stand out the HR specialist must develop the story with context. Remember that what differentiates you is not your position description as most of the other applicants, coming from similar backgrounds, will have essentially identical accountabilities. However, it’s unlikely that they achieved the same things because each applicant operates in a different context with unique challenges.

Award-winning and published professional resume writer, Stephanie Clark, is owner of New Leaf Resumes, a full-time resume writing and interview coaching service. Published in several American and Canadian career publications, Stephanie also writes a weekly career article for a local daily paper. Stephanie delivers strategic resumes and unforgettable cover letters by staying ahead of industry trends through participation in, and leadership of, classes in resume design and content development. She continues to hone her own talents with classes from America’s leading resume writers, Louise Kursmark and Wendy Enelow, of the renown Resume Writing Academy.

Legal network staffing services are responsible for providing independent lawyers to several firms as and when the need arrives. There are many sites and networks or job posting boards where the advertisements are given for recruitment of new lawyers. But Legal Network is one of the foremost staffing services in this respect. The network of legal staffing services thus includes both litigation support and legal placement. The legal network includes providing lawyers, paralegals as well as legal support personnel for both direct positions and contract hire. Law firm management, litigation support and human resources are some of the main areas of specialization of Legal Network.

One of the premier legal staffing services is Legal Network in Orange Country. This has been in business since 1977. It serves the needs of both corporate law departments and law firms. In fact, one of the best things about this company is that it also provides programs on employment counseling, employee training courses, marketing on law firms, goal setting counseling, “new employee” orientation courses and management counseling. There are some companies who do not want to spend time and money on expensive “in-house software training programs”. To help lawyers and other legal professionals in this respect, this legal set-up staffing service also has programs in computer training.

Legal network staffing services like these spend hours every month meeting thousands of law firm personnel and legal secretaries and selecting the best of them. Several factors such as employment history, skill identification and comparison of the best attributes of each candidate help these services to select the most suitable candidate for a client’s needs. Legal Network in Orange County has one of the best legal staffing records in the place and surrounding law firms. Other legal staffing services include Legal Networks in North Carolina and in Texas.

In industries throughout the world there are professional headhunters that are always on the lookout for talented individuals to fill highly sought after positions. Many times the jobs that are being filled by the headhunters and recruiters are not listed outside of the corporation that is hiring and it is only through working with a team of recruiters that some people are introduced to opportunities that can provide them with excellent compensation and benefits. Working through a professional recruiter the job seekers are not charged a fee for turning over their resume and showing an interest in moving up in their career.

Within the trucking industry there are a number of truck driving jobs that are being recruited for by headhunters that are looking for experienced CDL drivers. Representing national transportation firms and local operations the recruiters take in resumes of people looking at the truck drivers wanted ads and set up an interview based on experience. By allowing the individual driver to establish the conditions and routes that they are willing to drive the headhunters can match up the skills and experience of qualified drivers with the truck driving jobs that are not being advertised to the public.

With the help of a professional recruiter a number of people have been able to increase their pay and benefits because they let someone else look for work for them. While they are spending their time out on the open road hauling finished goods and raw materials from one city to another, the recruiter is looking at the truck drivers wanted jobs and matching up the interests and availability of the individual CDL driver with the national organizations that are paying top dollar for their experience and expertise.

Recruitment is the process of locating skilled and qualified experienced potential applicants to apply for job openings. Recruitment consultancies attract large number of qualified applicants who are ready to take up the job if it’s offered. Organizations have to recruit people with requisite skills, experience and qualifications to survive in the market from competition. For that they need to tap all sources both external and internal to recruit a skilled and qualified employee.

A recruitment consultancy helps to find and select a suitable candidate for a job opening. They often visit reputed educational institutions, universities, with a view to pick up job aspirants with requisite technical and professional skills. The merits are the organization has the freedom to select candidate from a large source, people with special skills can be hired easily, and often consultancies provide better employment opportunities to skilled and qualified candidates and job seekers. Recruitment consultancy is a growing and lucrative business in the UK. Firms in the UK like Chase Zander, Vanquish Recruitment consultant, Robert Walters, Mind Bench Consulting, and CIMA, offer specialized employment related services to corporate houses for a fee.

They also have many plus points to their credit. They have many contacts and are especially good at contacting skilled and experienced candidates. They advertise all vacancies, inform job applicants the basic details and job conditions of every job advertised, process all applications with efficiency and courtesy, seek candidates on the basis of their qualifications, and aim to ensure every person invited for interview will be given a fair and thorough hearing. They identify the right candidates in a highly professional way. They also guide and provide advice relating to employment to job seekers and candidates.

On the negative side hiring costs go up and the fees charged by some can be very high, sometimes over 25 to 30 percent of the annual salary for the position to be filled. This is however highly dependent on the type of recruitment consultancy, and the amount of work they will do for the employer. Sometimes higher rates are worth paying for if the candidate pool is one which is highly skilled in nature, and are sought-after. Also, the use of a recruitment consultant should reduce the amount of time it takes to hire a suitable candidate. Today, some recruitment consultancies also help in relation to training, payroll processing, surveys and statuary compliances.
